I am the LORD, I have called you in righteousness, I have taken you by the hand and kept you; I have given you as a covenant to the people, a light to the nations, to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness. I am the LORD, that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to idols. See, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth, I tell you of them.

God is good, God is great, and we thank Him for our food. Amen.
You probably learned that mealtime prayer somewhere along the way just like I did. And like with most prayers, I said it rote in my memory and didn’t even stop to think about it.
But think about it now. God is good. God is great. God is both of those things – good, kind, loving; and great, grand, majestic. God is in the business of doing new things and especially this week in Holy Week new things are good news. This week is about the new thing that happens in the resurrection, but first we have to get there. Before we get there, we have to be with God through Jesus, the one who is I AM.
